The Initial Years

In the late 1970s the idea that inspired Vida Nueva was formed in a travel trailer on the coast of Baja California.  Reverend Paul Jones, President Tina and Dr. Jay were camping.  They began discussing how to better serve the people of Mexico.

Tina and Paul were already in full time ministry. Still there was much to be done.  Other groups were doing good work, but there were so many unmet needs.

It was important for those already serving to continue their ministry.  Yet many schools, orphanages, pastors and missionaries had no sponsors. They lacked resources and also needed encouragement.

So in 1981 Paul and Tina acquired property in Tecate, California and incorporated Vida Nueva.  A mission center was developed for the distribution of food, clothing and medical supplies.  Vida Nueva operated from that mission compound for more than 20 years.  

Transition

Then in 2001 Reverend Paul had a stroke.  A few months later he went to be with The Lord.  It was time to make some big decisions.  

President Tina and the Board of Directors were clear. 

It was God's will to continue the work 

Many good servants were depending on supplies delivered to distant outposts.  But we realized something else.  Through this humble work God was also providing encouragement and spiritual nurturing.

So we relocated the mission center to Sun City, California.  We also changed the way supplies and financial resources are delivered.  

What we do and who we serve has stayed the same. Yet our administrative costs are very low. We're a lean operation.
